Training, Qualifications and Experience
Dr Zach’s interest in psychotherapy began during his undergraduate studies in psychology, and it deepened through his work as a mental health practitioner within the NHS. After earning his BSc, he held senior roles in third-sector organizations, providing psychological support to individuals with complex mental health difficulties. This experience led him to pursue a four-year professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
Throughout his career in the NHS, Dr Zach underwent specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). He has also supervised other mental health practitioners, led workshops for wider teams, and played a key role in setting up psychological services in GP surgeries across East London. Additionally, he has been involved in evaluating the effectiveness of various therapy interventions.
